SUMMER CAMP FAQS
What is the Martial Arts Class like?
Our Jiu Jitsu class is all-levels friendly. Our instructors will guide students through game-based kinesthetic warmups, fundamental body positions and live drills with a partner, and wrestling rounds. Kids may participate to their comfort level.
What will the Team Challenge be like?
Like traditional summer camp, students will be assigned to one of two teams for the week. During team challenges, such as tug of war and relay races, campers will try to win points for their team. At the end of the week, prizes will be awarded to the teams based on their points!
What if my plans change and we cannot attend?
Summer camp is nonrefundable. However, we know summer plans can change, and we can credit your purchase towards other activities or a membership at the Dojo. Please send your request for a credit via email, text, or website chat for our records.
What is the Gymnastics going to be like?
In our summer camp gymnastics, students will learn basic exercises in the open floor, balance beam, and hanging bars. Safety mats and monitors will be utilized the entire time. Two coaches will be present minimum. Kids may participate to their comfort level and ability.
Will the camps all be the same?
Nope! Each camp will focus on different content and games in jiu jitsu, gymnastics, and reflexes exercises. We hope this will encourage campers to select multiple camps, and we will offer discounts to those that sign up for more than one! Email us for more information.
What is your illness policy for camp?
We understand small colds and allergies happen. We do prohibit students from attending if they have a fever, are noticeably sick and not feeling well, have vomited within the last 48 hours, or are otherwise contagious.
What will the Primitive Reflexes be like?
Using the most entertaining exercises designed to integrate primitive reflexes, kids will use scooter boards, hanging bars, balance beams, swings, and obstacle course set ups. They will learn exercises that are both fun and functional for managing emotions, learning, collaborative play, and more.
What do I need to do to prepare my campers?
You are responsible for dropping off and picking up your child promptly. No parents may stay without board approval. Your kids should come to camp with all drinks, snacks, and lunch if they need in labeled containers and bags. Please apprise the staff of any medical devices needed and how they are used.
What if I want to reach my child during camp?
We understand each kiddo is different and might need differing levels of support from their parents. You are welcome to call or text the Dojo to check on them at any time. You can also help them get acclimated during drop off or pick up early.
