Dear Dojo Team,
Coach Wes and I and your One Dojo family are incredibly proud of you for your hard work today and all the dedication leading up to today. Many of you cut weight, had restricted diets, took extra practices each day, and/or took on brackets much bigger than your own weight class. This is not for the faint of heart. You are heroes and heroines of your own adventure to be your best self, and we truly hope the lessons and tears forge a path of resilience and resolve.
Here is the medal count for today. We reached a 90% medal rate for our team and won 6th place for overall teams out of 77 gyms, most of which got points for both no-gi AND gi matches though we ONLY had no-gi matches. That’s phenomenal.
12 GOLD: Juliana (1), Lilah (1), Logan (1), Jadon (1), Noah (1), Joshua (1), Makena (1), Bella (1), Gunner (2), Titus (2)
12 SILVER: Juliana (adult – 1), Ruth (2), Lilah (1), Carson (1), Sara (1), Makena (1), Jadon (1), Amelia (1), Elijah (1), Jonathan (adult – 2)
6 BRONZE: Logan (1), Ben (2), Amelia (1), Gabe (2)
HONORABLE MENTION: Carter, Hunter
EXTRA HONORABLE MENTION: ALL our mothers and fathers and teens who made sure that the kids were taken care of, on the right mats, and overall well prepared for this tournament!
We’re looking at two tournaments for the gym before the close of the Fall. If you are interested in competing, please do reach out so we can help you prepare.
Again, we could not be more proud. Can’t wait to hit the mats again Monday morning!
Best,
Coach Wes & Coach Belle
